We have 4 fully equipped science labs, one of which has just been completely refurbished and was used for the first time in September 2007. The science preparation room was also refurbished at the same time.  Each of the science labs has also been equipped with an interactive white board and an overhead data projector.

We believe these new additions to the science department will help us to develop the teaching of science in a way that is interesting and in line with the needs of the contemporary world.

At present we are continuing to make changes to the Key Stage 3 curriculum in line with the requirements of the new revised curriculum. A new scheme has been written for the current year 8 pupils and started being delivered in September 2007.

We are also half way through teaching the new CCEA Single Award Science specification which was introduced in September 2006. The Double Award Science course continues to be popular with our pupils. Every year these classes are fully booked with over 90% of these pupils obtaining grade Cs or better.

We look forward to continuing to develop the teaching of Science in a way that is interesting, challenging and contemporary.
