Departmental Aims
Welcome to the Religious Education site at Brownlow Integrated College. The main aims of the department are as follows:
1.To encourage pupils to stimulate an interest in and enthusiasm for the study of Religion.
2.To help pupils identify and promote exploration of and reflection upon, questions about the meaning and purpose of life.
3.To encourage pupils to respect the beliefs, values and attitudes of others.
Key Stage 3 – Junior School
R.E. is a vital part of the curriculum and a central subject to the integrated ethos of Brownlow Integrated College. Pupils study this subject for two periods each week at Years 8, 9 and 10 and they will pursue a range of different topics in accordance with the core syllabus for R.E.

Pupils will be taught these subjects by a variety of methods such as ICT, DVDs, group work, projects and power points.
GCSE
Religious Education at GCSE is a very popular subject with pupils at Brownlow Integrated College. Students will follow the CCEA course which covers three main areas:

Results
Over the past ten years pupils have achieved excellent grades at GCSE with a large percentage of them gaining A* - C grades
After School
Many pupils who study R.E. at GCSE will continue to develop their interest in the subject by studying R.E. at A – Level and university.
Those pupils who have taken GCSE R.E. are now employed in a variety of jobs such as teaching, nursing, youth work, church work, journalism and working in other countries
