GEOGRAPHY

STAFF

Mr Brown - Head of Department

Mrs Carroll

Mr Gosling

In the Geography Department we help pupils to understand the issues that directly affect their lives and their communities. We raise pupil awareness and concern over what is happening in other parts of the world and the topical issues of pollution, migration, climate change, global poverty and natural hazards.

We assist pupils in helping them to explore their sense of identity and belonging, their curiosity about the world around them and their beliefs about how we interact with our world and with each other

We offer an exciting and challenging programme of study at Key Stage 3 and have made progress in implementing the statutory Revised Curriculum for our Year 8 pupils.

Pupils may further their studies in Geography at Key Stage 4 level and have the opportunity to opt for a GCSE in Geography.

Field trips are essential for our pupils to develop their sense of enquiry skills and are a tremendous opportunity for staff and pupils alike to get to know each other even better!!
