VOCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME

During Years 11 and 12 students are presented with the opportunity to participate in a Vocational Enhancement Programme. The programme carried has a 2 year duration, and is facilitated by the Southern Regional College, who present the available courses on our behalf. An outcome of the VEP programme is a Vocational GCSE Qualification.

Students taking part in the VEP are provided with the opportunity to sample a wide variety of vocational disciplines, allowing them to develop interests and knowledge within chosen course areas, and also enabling them to make more confident and considered career choices.

The programme aims to prepare students for working life, by giving them an insight into the realities and expectations of life outside of the school environment. Development of both personal and social skills, by being faced with new challenges will not only allow the student to become more independent, but also create an awareness of the importance of responsibility and maturity in a workplace.
Most students have found this programme beneficial and enjoyable which is another positive for Brownlow Integrated College.
